What would you like to talk about?

  • Learning about your ADHD or ASD

No two people with ADHD or ASD are alike. Knowledge helps us identify our own unique ADHD and ASD traits. Do you know how ADHD or ASD shows up for you? What situations trigger your symptoms? How do they impact your life positively? Negatively? Through coaching you can both identify your symptoms and learn new ways to cope with frustrations they may cause.

  • Discovering Your Own Strengths

Do you know your own personal strengths? With coaching, you can discover or uncover your own personal strengths. With an ADHD coach as your guide, you can focus on your strong points and confidently move forward in your life; develop a positive narrative in your head and keep negative thoughts away.

  • Improving Focus

Do you have trouble concentrating or staying focused on the task at hand? Learning to focus your attention in the present moment and avoid distractions, internally and externally, is a skill. Learning to pause, practice mindfulness, or take an exercise break, are valuable tools that help us bring our attention back to the present moment. Even a 5 or 10 minute break refreshes our brain and improves our ability to focus. It’s not Hocus Pocus, it’s focus, focus!

  • Incorporating Physical Activity

Wonder how movement helps treat ADHD and ASD symptoms? Adding physical activity into your day can be as simple as stretching at your desk for 5 minutes, going up and down a flight of stairs, or putting in a load of laundry. Or maybe you have a sport you play, and prefer to do that on a different day. Through Katkoaching you can experiment with many kinds of physical activity and learn how to incorporate it into your day.

  • Coping With Emotions and Stress

When do you become upset? Many people with ADHD and ASD are very sensitive and feel intense emotions. As a result, it can take hours, even days, before they can return to feeling calm. Coaching helps persons who have intense emotions to develop strategies to use when these situations happen.

  • It's About Time!!!!

Do you have difficulty managing your time? Since brains with ADHD are wired differently, it makes sense that their perception of time is different. As a result, planning time, scheduling time, tracking time, etc., greatly impact your daily life and cause a lot of stress that results in negative self-talk. Coaching can help you zero in on your time management skills and help you devise your own system to improve your day-to-day life.

Choosing the right coach

What makes a good ADHD coach?

A good coach…

Listens: First, I listen to what you would like to take away from your coaching; when you tell me what brings you to coaching and you want to work on, this sets the foundation for your path.

Allows a safe space: Next, I provide a safe space—the coaching sessions—during which I ask powerful questions to help you discover answers to what you are working on.

Guides: From listening to your answers, using coaching techniques, I act as a guide to help us stay on track to achieve your outcome.

No two people with ADHD are alike. With 40+ years of experience as a personal trainer, 20 years as a parent and 10+ years as an ADHD coach, I bring the breadth and depth of knowledge needed to craft a bespoke plan to fit your unique needs and dreams.

More about Katie

Testimonials

  • "With Katie, I have learned that exercising brings back that old energy level. At the end of the summer I kept my two granddaughters, ages 4 and 2, for six days. Yes, I was still tired at the end of the day, but can you imagine how tired I would have been if I had not had [Katie's] training? ... You should have seen my husband; he was very tired and he was only with them after work."

Linda O., Former Katdance Older Student

  • "We seem to take the "good things" in our lives for granted! Katdance was one of the "good things" in my life and I want to take this opportunity to show my gratitude toward your service to me these past four years. Believe me, in my past 15 or so years of exercising, you've taught us more on exercise, safety and positive attitude."

    Paulette G., Former Katdance Student

  • "Katie is an incredible ADHD and ASD coach. She has helped me work past a lifetime of crippling shame and anxiety; 30 years of therapists, coaches, and others couldn't do that. I'm now doing things I never thought possible--like run my own business! Trust Katie and let her work her magic. She has tremendous insight, experience, capability, and empathy. And she knows how to get results. She's also an incredible exercise coach and helped me fit exercise into my routine consistently--which I never thought I'd be able to do as an ADHD'er. Katie is always learning and staying on top of the latest discoveries in ADHD, ASD and exercise. She is a top coach in my book."
